The Equitom Foundation can issue tax certificates

Starting in 2026

We are proud to announce that the Equitom Foundation has been officially recognized by the FPS Finance to issue tax certificates for donations that qualitfy for tax reduction.

This means that starting in 2026, we may issue tax certificates for contributions that meet the legal requirements.

This is an important step in the further professionalization of our foundation and a valuable development
for everyone who supports our mission: giving horses in need access to high‑quality medical care, while also investing in research, innovation, and education within equine medicine.

As confirmed in the BELSPO advisory report, the Equitom Foundation supports both animal welfare and scientific research and education.

What does this mean in practice?

Donors who support the Equitom Foundation can — provided that the legal conditions are met — receive a tax certificate for their donation.

How does the administrative process work?

During the year

We register all donations and carefully
track the required information for each donor. We also clearly communicate
that:

“The tax certificate will only be prepared after the end of the calendar year.”

After the end of the calendar year

For each donor:

  • One consolidated tax certificate prepared;
  • One 281.71 form is created;
  • The mandatory electronic declaration is submitted via Belcotax-on-web;
  • A copy of the certificate is sent to the donor;
  • The form is submitted to the tax authorities.

The legal deadline for this submission is 1 March of the following year at the latest.

Thank you for your support

Every donation makes a difference. Thanks to the support of donors,
companies, and partners, the Equitom Foundation can help horses that would
otherwise have no access to life‑saving medical care and can support essential
scientific research.

We sincerely thank you for your trust and commitment.
